Dr. Zhao is interested in the design and synthesisof self-assembled coacervates driven by multivalent supramolecularinteractions to simulate the diverse compositions, morphologies and functionsof membraneless organelles in cells; He is also enthusiastic about developingnew biomedical polymeric materials based on coacervates for tissue engineeringand regenerative medicine research. Dr. Zhao has published more than 20academic articles in top journals including Nature Communications, AdvancedMaterials, Journal of the American Chemical Society, AngewandteChemie International Edition, and Advanced Functional Materials.
