Thistalk focuses on optimizing the secrecy energy efficiency (SEE) in unmannedaerial vehicle (UAV) communication systems enhanced by reconfigurableintelligent surface (RIS). The study addresses the challenges posed by multipleeavesdroppers and imperfect channel state information (CSI) in amillimeter-wave rotary-wing UAV setup. The key innovation lies in employing aTwin Twin-Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (TTD3) approach tooptimize the UAV flight trajectory, active beamforming, and RIS passivebeamforming simultaneously. This method maximizes the SEE while consideringenergy constraints, and it outperforms traditional approaches such as Twin DeepDeterministic Policy Gradient (TDDRL) in both secrecy rate and energy savings.The talk will cover the framework, problem formulation, proposed solution, andcomparison with existing methods, providing a comprehensive overview of howdeep reinforcement learning (DRL) is leveraged to enhance the security andefficiency of UAV-based communication systems in 5G and beyond.
个人简历:
Dr Tham is an associate professor withUniversiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). He received his Bachelor of Engineeringand Doctor of Philosophy degrees from University of Malaya. His researchinterests include deep learning, reinforcement learning and wirelesscommunications. He has participated in 28 research and development projects, 12of which he served as the Principal Investigator (PI). His PI-led projectsinclude two international grants (ICT Virtual Organization of ASEAN Institutesand NICT (ASEAN IVO) and British Council UK-ASEAN Institutional Links EarlyCareer Researchers), Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education Fundamental ResearchGrant Scheme (FRGS), and multiple industry-funded projects. He has publishedmore than 60 papers on journals and conferences, including IEEE Trans, IEEEGLOBECOM, ICC and WCNC. He was awarded the UTAR Research Excellence Award 2024and the ASEAN IVO Certificate of Excellence 2023. He is also a professionalengineer (Electronic) registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia andprofessional technologist (Electronic) registered with Malaysia Board ofTechnologists.
