The 25th China Annual Conference and Expo for International Education organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange, was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from October 30, 2024 to November 1, 2024. Dr. ZHANG Xichun, Chancellorof South China University of Technology(SCUT), was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech at the Parallel Forum-Exploring Pathways for Internationalization at Home. At the conference, a new book launch ceremony was held for Dr. ZHANG's theoretical monograph on Internationalization at Home, titled Exploring the Path of Internationalization at Home in Chinese Higher Education: Practices from SCUT's Guangzhou International Campus.

LIU Limin, President of China Education Association for International Exchange, and FU Bo, Deputy Secretary-general, attended the symposium. LI Weiqing, Vice President of the university, attended the book launch ceremony. 300 representatives from universities including the University of Macau, Zhejiang University, Monash University in Australia, Shanghai University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Xi'an Eurasia University and Shanghai Academy of Educational Sciences joined in the exchange and discussion.

The book “Exploring the Path of Internationalization at Home in Chinese Higher Education: Practices from SCUT's Guangzhou International Campus” highlights the innovative development model of Internationalization at Home with Chinese characteristics, summarizing SCUT's practices and explorations in international education at its Guangzhou International Campus. It is the first monograph in China on the research of internationalization at home in higher education.
This book, consisting of three parts, systematically explores the future path of the internationalization of higher education with Chinese characteristics. The first part conducted an overall review of the theoretical origin, organizational mechanism, practical model as well as the demand of internationalization at home of higher education institutions in China. The second part discusses the foundation of internationalization at home of higher education, the basic principles and action plan of internationalization at home of higher education with Chinese characteristics. The third part delves into the specific practices of SCUT’s Guangzhou International Campus and the innovation and exemplary significance of the SCUT Model.
