May 25, 2015, hosted by C.Y.L Guangdong provincial committee, the provincial Education Department, Science and Technology Department, Students Union, the finals of 13th "Challenge Cup" ended up at South China Normal University (Higher Education Mega Center, HEMC).

SCUT students won 9 Outstanding Awards, 8 First Prizes, 6 Second Prizes and 7 Third Prizes. Both two SCET teams -- a team guided by teacher Yang Yibo, Guo Wenying and Wang Hengchang, a team led by Zhan Ying, and the other instructed by Yu Jiangmiao, led by Fu Yifei and Wu Zhuoya--won Outstanding Awards, thus achieving the best results in the "Challenge Cup" College Students Extracurricular Mathematical Contest in Guangdong Province since the new school was established in 2008.

In recent years, with the care of SCET authorities and the support of teachers, SCET freshmen and sophomores involved in the projects of senior students and the number and quality of projects have been improving greatly, producing some specialized innovative teams and excellent instructors.

The nearly 3-month contest attracted 1232 works from 107 universities in Guangdong Province, covering 11 areas, such as mechanical control, information technology, philosophy, society, and education.
Outside the event, organizers also organized an "Outstanding achievements Fair of Challenge Cup" and "Undergraduate Entrepreneurial Innovation Forum for 90's generation". It integrated "Green Year Board" Crowd Fund Platform and innovation and entrepreneurship funds for Guangdong students, and invited venture capital firms, research institutes, technology incubators and other 60 entrepreneurs to negotiate with 600 student innovative projects, thus helping outstanding to be commercial.
