The School has a regard for discipline construction, pays attention to applications of research projects, encourages our teachers to apply foundation projects, and offers favorable conditions for applications. In 2008, the School has increased 38 research projects, 10 projects funded by the national Natural Science Foundation (funding of 1,970,000 Yuan), 9 projects funded by Guangdong province (3 of them funded by Guangdong Natural Science Foundation).
In 2008, 189 papers have been published, of which 102 have been included in SCI, EI and ISTP. Three textbooks for postgraduate education and one textbook for undergraduate education have been published. Five projects have obtained patent-licensing.
