Professor Yingjun Wang
On December 7th, the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) announced the list of Academicians newly elected in 2015. After two rounds of election, 70 full members of the Academy were generated from 521 valid nominees. As one of them, SCUT President Professor Yingjun Wang, from School of Materials Science and Engineering, was elected the Academician at Department of Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy and Material Engineering of CAE.
The elected system of the Academicians has been improved after 12 times elections. After this co-optation, the total number of Academicians is 852, including 322 Senior Academicians. The Academicians team has more comprehensive subject coverage and more extensive regional distributions, which will be conducive to the development of engineering technology and the growth of talents in China.
