On Monday afternoon, 15 December, Dr. Li Sun, from the University of Leeds, visited the SPA-SCUT. She met with the Associate Dean of the SPA, Prof. Xu Fan and the Assistant Dean, Dr. Feng Yu to discuss the way of academic exchange and constructing collaboration programs between the two institutes in the future.
Firstly, Prof. Xu Fan offered Dr. Li Sun with a general overview of the school’s international collaboration programs and the achievements made in recent years. He addressed that the school had paid great attention to the events of cooperating with international institutes and planned to invite notable overseas teachers to give lectures and workshops to the school, working together to promote mutual academic development and cultural exchange. Dr. Li Sun indicated that she would like to be the link to the cultural exchanges between China and Britain, furthermore to strengthen the partnership, bilateral cooperation and communication in teaching and academic research. Finally, both sides reached the tentative agreement on hoping to establish joint programs including short-term visiting program, 3+1+1, 4+1 programs and so forth.
The meeting enables the SPA-SCUT to get a deeper understanding of British top universities and make a big step towards the objective of education internationalization.
