From August 24 to 25, The 2018 Working Meeting of National MPA Education Steering Committee as well as National MPA Dean’s Conference was held in Guangzhou. This series conference was co-hosted by the National MPA Education Steering Committee and the School of Public Administration of South China University of Technology. Members from the Committee and representatives in charge of the MPA education institutes attended the conference.
The 2018 Working Meeting of National MPA Education Steering Committee was held in the day before National MPA Dean’s Conference, mainly focusing on the issues related to strategic development, enrolment and students cultivating, teacher training, MPA dissertation case, evaluation and certification, cooperation and exchange, organizational capacity building etc.
In the National MPA Dean’s Conference, the in total 350 participants were divided into nine groups for further discussing the summary and plans of work for National MPA Education Steering Committee, the classification and requirements for MPA dissertations etc. LI Xuhong, Deputy Director of the 2nd bureau of civil servants, the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, pointed out that with its distinctive conference theme, clear tasks and good results, this conference further deepened the understanding of the new spirit and requirements of the CPC, and further clarified the thoughts and key points for the development of MPA education.
The academic popularity and social influence of SCUT and its public management discipline have been further promoted by hosting the conference.
